Answer and Explanation to Yesterday's Question
As part of professional responsibility, a Project Manager must balance
the Stakeholder's interests. A customer has requested a change in a
project that is in the fourth pass at formal acceptance. What should
the Project Manager tell the customer?
A) Add the requested changes to the project
B) Tell the customer no because the project is about to close.
C) Have Senior Management determine if it is necessary
D) Ask for a product description and provide the customer
time and cost estimates (Correct)
Explanation: Asking for a product description and providing
the customer time and cost estimates will force the customer to define
what the change is. Adding the requested changes to the project are
forms of Gold Plating unless it is an approved change. Tell the
customer no because the project is about to close. As Project Manager,
you do not tell the customer "no." It will be the customer's decision
to implement the changes. Have Senior Management determine if it is
necessary. Senior Management should not approve changes requested by a
customer. The changes must be approved by the Change Control
Management.
