Joseph Phillips: Closing a Project Isn’t All Fun

#: 4

I find that project managers detest one portion of administrative closure: lessons learned documentation. Lessons learned documentation is a report on what the project manager, the project team, and the organization has learned as a result of the project work. For example, if the team learned a new skill, what does this new skill mean for the organization? If the project identified a project by-product that the organization could sell as part of a positive risk, this information is recorded and communicated.

Joseph Phllips: CAPM? Bueller? Bueller?

#: 104

When you consider that there are roughly 389,726 PMPs and just 11, 458 CAPMs it’s easy to question the value of the CAPM. Before taking this exam you should, of course, visit CompTIA for the latest and most up-to-date version of the exam objectives. I’ve created an exam objective summary below:

One certification that I think holds some merit is CompTIA’s Project+ Certification.

CompTIA is a vendor-neutral organization that primarily certifies professionals in mainstream IT certifications. You’ve probably heard of their two largest certifications: the A+ Professional for computer gurus and Network+ Professional for the LAN/WAN set. You can generally recognize a CompTIA certification with that fancy plus sign at the end of the title.
