I would like to share the joy of passing PMP exam today with a big thanks to all
for the support extended.Below are the lessons learned -
Schedule : Exactly 3 months

Exam Date : 27th May 2011
Books ref:
Head First : 20 days – Easy & Good crosswords and exercises
PMBOK : Very Important, Found easy to read & understand, read apendix and
glossories also
+ Rita : 35 days – Extra Info, Practice Exams are close to real exam
Mock Exams : 7 days
Rita’s : Difficulty level good, marks between 72-82%, Initially
found hard to finish within 4 hours
Oliver Lehmann : 75 & 175 Qs Difficulty level good, marks between @75%, lots of
out of PMBOK Qs
Head First and Tenstep Institute: 200 Qs Easy , can be finished in 3 hours about
85% marks
Lessons learned during the exam:
Prof Responsibility area proved to be disaster due to lack of preparation,
though hardly 4-5 Qs
Risk and Quality Qs large numbers
Less calculations (about 4) and lesser Network diagram (2, you need not draw
them)
Most Qs based on situations
My way:
Prepared notes and correlations between ITTOs, no need to memorize ITTOs, by the
time you approach exam, you should be able to recall most of them
I had decided to mark every Qs which I was not sure about
